Year 2: The Torch Passes
Remembering actual dates of every event in TFS is near impossible. I will try to summarize this right. I know I will miss many people along the way and for that I apologize. I will try to cover each Shadow's story front to end instead of telling the whole year as a story that flip flops all around. I will also say that if you wish to read a ramble about the history of certain Shadows, the VET section better covers that. This is a mere summary of those actions of those players.
Year 2 ended FAR different than it started.
The first year ended with our new game released and our clan in amazing shape for the coming year. However, our perch high up could only fall for a time.
The year started out with our newer Co-Leader Uzamaki dominating his role in the Shadows. He had Bravo burning up the clan battle score sheets and he dealt with some of the greatest drama one could ever find. He did all this while improving his skill as a player too. Uzamaki's life did grow far too busy for him to be the leader we needed out of him. Sadly he had to deal with this leadership alone as both Pharroh and myself stepped down from Co-Leadership nearly on the same night. As much as it may seem, that was not planned and to this day that is one of my regrets. Doing that to Uza.
Pharroh cited life reasons and I knew deep down that I wasn't out and gone... But I knew that other leaders had to be found. Built. Tested. Uzamaki payed the price for this. The result is what we have now. What was a golden age of TFS was entering it's first days of adversity.
Uzamaki and his brother BlackFalcon's days grew less active and more secluded in TFS. We knew we had lost Bravo before it was made official to us. Regardless, Bravo's name was retired as Uza left us, Charlie Squad followed suit a short time later and hasn't been revived since.
Speaking of Charlie Squad, Charlie was the lone squad to 'win' a tournament in this clan to date. They didn't have many members but they all were skilled and respectful. Members like SamuelCarter are arguably one of the more skilled but less decorated Shadows ever to pass through this clan.
At some point in the year, Badoutahelldon came into TFS and likely ran a squad as well as anyone has in such a short time. In a matter of months he broke all the clan battle wins and game wins records. He isn't a bully and his K/D will demonstrate that. He just put together an insanely talented team and won a BUNCH of battles while he was there. Sadly Badout's time was cut short in TFS as life demanded games take a back seat. Like Larry, we hope Badout returns one day.
With Bravo leaving TFS, we also lost three of our first supersoldiers in Jordan, Wellons and Highflyer. Their leave started off peaceful but then turned into something I really feel was a turning point for the clan. More on that in a moment.
One story that can't be ignored here is the story of Blood Hack. Now me and him aren't on speaking terms nor do I wish to rekindle any friendship but I will state his positive impact he had while he was here. When he believed in this clan, Blood captained Alpha squad to an era of dominance that has since been duplicated but not easily. He recruited several talented Shadows but his best recruit came after he left TFS, Rizx. At the time Rizx came off as just another sharp shooter but over time he has really brought this clan back up from where it had fallen.
Dutch also played a large role along the way this year. He earned a Co-Leadership role but his work prior to that was what got his name out there for us. He rode Alpha and Whiskey to some decent success before work demanded more time from him. I see a trend here when it comes to games vs life... Dutch at one point ran Whiskey with ToxicCyanide who has brough in another new Co-Leader in Mehgun. Their story I believe is still just starting but we only see great things so far. Toxic I will say was one of the BIG reasons TFS got through the slow months. For that matter, Vergil as well. They were able to edit the site as I can't as much anymore...
Blood Hack left around the same time Wellons and Highflyer left. I believe it was after as I remember some of his words slamming us on who we recruited and the quality of people we were finding. TFS had lost a handful of incredible legendary members in a short month or so.
We held an election immediately to stabalize some of the chaos that was happening. Newer members like Poliwag and Rapter quickly became the two Shadows that stopped the bleeding and kept the spirit of TFS alive. The clan was used to relying on Wellons and Highflyer to win our battles for us. Rapter and Poliwag quickly taught everyone that finding protectors wasn't the hardest thing to do. Seeing we didn't need to look far for them at all.
Jawbreaker finally got online again and often around this point. His story this year found him earning a Co-Leader position along with Echo Squad being the second squad to ever get retired by TFS. Only he can reactivate it. More on Jaw in a moment.
Larry made an appearance but has gone silent once more and now has been retired. Larry was even active long enough to get elected to Co-Leader at one point. Whereever you are Larry, make the wife happy!
Jawbreaker's falling out in year one with Wellons and Kameron never was fully resolved. Enter Blood Hack and the Ex Bravo members. I'm going to say that this was the turning point for TFS in year 2. We just lost these members, members we counted on. We all felt at the time that 3/4 of these Shadows were arguably the best TEAM of Shadows we had to put out there.
Rizx, Jawbreaker, Rapter, and KrazyMoeFoe were the four that silenced any doubt. Trash talking ensued after the battle but one statement was made. We wouldn't be bullied by anyone. Looking back, I'm not surprised that all four of these players were options in the last election where 3/4 of them were elected to Co-Leadership. After this battle, there were some slow weeks still but our dark days were over. Our friends turned tyrants actually made us stronger. As for Jordan, Wellons and Highflyer, they have all come onto good terms with the clan once more. They are possibly in the clan again but I have not heard from them in some time. As for Blood Hack, I know he'll challenge us again one day and I expect a closer game the next time TFS finds him too. All things said, I don't believe he is all bad as I know he is a part of Uzamaki's MLG team he runs now. And we all know Uza's judgement has never led us wrong so maybe that still counts for something.
The months have gotten crazy once more. Rizx is now 'Leader of the Shadows' and is running a tight ship. Squads like Delta have crawled out of the shadows of both Larry and Badout. Now we have the new Zenith squad that Dokey is running with Warstar. Kilo is back and Bloodhound is building a small army while he awaits Nightwolf's return. Perhaps they are the next big thing? Who knows. Every squad and Shadow can make an impact and it doesn't have to be untouchables yeilding a sniper rifle.
The year it feels really ended up belonging to RapterClaw and Rizx. Rizx runs the site and still feels like he plays the game more than anyone while Rapter has jut OWNED every stat and award anyone can win in the clan EVER. I've tried to make it hard for people too! He just does it ALL.
I'll finish with this.
How do I know The Frozen Shadows are strong? I'll answer here.
Not many clans can lose these type of players: Blood Hack, Wellons, Kameron, Jordan, Badoutahelldon, BlackFalcon, Blazing Hydra, SnakeVenom, BornFlunky, Kirkinator, Larry, Don Rebel, Uzamaki. We also had Poliwag, Toxic and Dutch take breif leaves from the clan. ALL this in one year and survive and be able to call it legit somehow. But we did. We aren't just four kids hanging onto a dying idea. I thought that maybe that would be the case when I saw these friends say goodbye but as I type this, TFS is growing once more. Somehow...yet should have I ever questioned it seeing who is left and who is arriving now?
The leaders here now are constantly passing the torch to the right people.
That's how I know TFS is strong, not because I can look up and say I know (enter gamertag) but because I can look at the list of all these amazing people and see that they are ready to run with the torch if they need to. I know that TFS is strong now because we were able to say goodbye to so many great players and live to reach the beginning of....
